Obtain Sponsorship of the contruction of two Bandstands
Mayor Moya-Flowers received sponsorship of two bandstands through kind donation for Hans and Nandini Bhojwani Foundation. The first bandstand was inaugurated in the Battlefield Park on September 22nd, 2010 and the second bandstand was inaugurated in the BTL Park (northside) on March 4th 2011.
Public Meetings and for it to be aired live on television
Organize monthly public meetings in all constituencies and insure live broadcasting for residents to watch in the comfort of their homes.
Get Up and Run! Program
The Mayor in conjuction with the Get Up and Run! Committee launched a exercise to promote healthy living and lifesytle changes. Exercise are done daily at the different zones starting at 5:00am. to 6:30am. Zones are as follows: Zone 1- Belama Phase II Football Field, Sir Sandy Hunter Street, Zone 2 - Marion Jones Stadium, Princess Margaret Drive, Zone 3 - Sister Clara Muhammad School, Cor. Fabers Rd. and Battle Field Park and Zone 4- Charles Hyde Building, Mahogany Street Ext.
Get and Run Summer Camp
The Belize City Council in conjunction with UNICEF is hosting a summer program to facilitate 600 youths to participate in 6 different sporting discipline such as: basketball, football, volleyball, track & field, frisbees and swimming. Register at Yarbrough Field, Lopez Mateo Park and YWCA. The camp starts on July 18th to August 19th 2011.
