Belize City Council Hosts Parking Meter Pilot Project Public Meeting

As the entity with the responsibility of serving and engaging the residents of our great city, the Belize City Council conducted another public consultation on Thursday, April 7th, 2022 to highlight the recent implementation of the one-year Parking Meter Pilot Project.

Thursday’s session was led by a head table inclusive of Mayor Bernard Wagner, Councillor Albert Vaughan with responsibility for traffic, City Planner Ms. Carla Patnett, City Engineer Mr. Floyd Williams, Traffic Enforcement Manager Mr. Kevan Jenkins, and Court Manager Mr. Jermaine Hyde who were on hand to continue the sensitization efforts spearheaded by the council and who also addressed the public’s concerns as we have commenced this brief trial period.Residents had the opportunity to witness a practical demonstration of how to use both systems located in the Albert Street and Newtown Barracks area.

Residents are reminded that information relating to the use of parking meters can be found on the council’s website and social media platforms. Via this medium, the council also encourages residents to direct concerns or questions relating to the Parking Meter Pilot Project to the attention of the council by calling 280-3073 or sending a WhatsApp message to 673-9055.
