City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) Disaster Communications Workshop

Thu, 30th May 2024

☔🚨 We are thrilled to share the successful completion of our  City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) Disaster Communications Workshop, hosted by the Belize City Council under the theme, “Creating Streamlined Communication and a Better Working Environment.”

At the Belize City Council, disaster planning is a year-round effort. This workshop set the foundation for a new year of crisis planning as our diverse CEMO team collaborates with the private sector, NGOs, the government, and local communities to enhance our capabilities and strengthen our capacity. 🤝

During the workshop, we explored ways to create a positive environment before, during, and after crises. We also focused on tools for personal growth, positive thinking, goal setting, leadership, and, most importantly, emotional intelligence in communication during critical times. Teamwork, professionalism, banding together, and supporting each other with respect and unity were key highlights of our sessions.

According to The National Meteorological Service of Belize, we can expect a particularly active season this year. We urge all residents to stay informed and prepared as we welcome the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season on June 1, 2024.

Let's continue working together to ensure a resilient and safe Belize City! 🌧🌪
