Deputy Mayor Eluide Miller, Councillor Kaya Cattouse, and Assistant City Engineer Menjivar were on the ground recently conducting a site visit at Western Avenue in the Lake Independence area. We are pleased to announce that works will commence this week to upgrade this highly utilized artery, bringing it up to full paved status.

The team also inspected ongoing works along Lake Independence Boulevard, which is currently being upgraded by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH).

In addition, Deputy Mayor Miller joined Chairman Albert Vaughan for a walkthrough of Starfish Crescent, where concreting works are now 75% complete and on schedule to be finalized within the coming weeks.

The team also visited several streets in the Belama Phase 4 & 5 areas, recently upgraded through partnership with Area Representative Hon. Francis Fonseca and the Government of Belize.

🏗️ These upgrades represent more than roadworks, they reflect coordinated leadership, strong partnerships, and steady progress in delivering safer, more resilient infrastructure for our residents.

Belize City continues to move forward street by street, community by community.
