This week, the Belize City Council successfully hosted a three-day Rapid Planning Toolkit (RPT) Workshop focused on managing Belize City’s rapid urban growth.

The opening session welcomed Mayor Bernard Wagner, the City Administrator, and Councillors, who joined national and local partners in setting the tone for focused, forward-looking discussions.

Over the three days, participants collaborated to assess urban growth trends, shape a City Growth Charter, identify priority expansion areas, and translate strategy into practical, action-oriented planning tools.

The Rapid Planning Toolkit strengthens Belize City’s ability to guide sustainable development with clarity, coordination, and evidence-based decision-making.
