Unveiling of the Rearchitected "BELIZE" Sign

Wed, 09th June 2021

It was a proud day for the Belize City Council as we celebrated the unveiling of the freshly painted "BELIZE" sign in the Fort George Division next to the Baron Bliss Lighthouse. Today's festivities saw the attendance of Hon. Henry Charles Usher, Area Representative for the Fort George Division along with members of the Fort George Committee, Hon. Kareem Musa, Area Representative for the Caribbean Shores Division alongside Mayor Bernard Wagner, our Councillor responsible for Beautification, Michael Novelo and our Councillor responsible for Traffic, Albert Vaughan.
This project funded by the Belize City Council with the intent to create a more welcoming atmosphere for residents and returning tourists to our city was completed by the very talented Chelsea Johnston and we commend her and express our sincerest gratitude for a job beautifully done.
During the ceremony today, Hon. Henry Charles Usher spoke of his vision for future collaborations with the Council to make his division more family and child friendly and likewise have the sea wall repainted.  Hon. Kareem Musa also spoke with Mayor Wagner to have the "BELIZE" sign in Caribbean Shores repainted in the upcoming months.
We look forward to working in tandem with all applicable parties to achieve these goals for the benefit of our residents and our city.
