Today marks a significant milestone for the Belize City Council as we officially received the first of two compactor trucks procured through grant funding from the Japanese Government's Grassroots and Human Security Project! ๐ฏ๐ต
This journey began with a rigorous application process and months of dedicated correspondence, culminating in the official grant signing ceremony in November 2022. These compactors will revolutionize our waste collection processes, improving response times and enhancing the cleanliness of our streets allowing us to betterย ย meet the needs of our residents.ย
We extend our gratitude to the Japanese Government, His Excellency Ambassador Nobuyuki Shirakata, and the team at the Embassy of Japan for their steadfast support and dedication to this project. ๐
But let us remember, the success of our efforts doesn't solely rely on machinery; it's about the collective actions of each resident of Belize City. Let's cultivate a culture of civic pride and responsibility, where every resident takes ownership of keeping our surroundings clean. Together, we can achieve so much more! ๐ช๐ณ
The new garbage compactor trucks will be significant additions to the heavy equipment fleet that the council has been building.ย
Together, in partnership with our residents, we will continue working towards a cleaner and more beautiful Belize City! ๐
