As we remain in the peak of hurricane season, we are actively collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen our preparedness and response strategies for Belize City. Recently, CEMO held a meeting with the National Meteorological Service of Belize, representatives from London Economics, the UK Meteorological Office, and the Caribbean Meteorological Organization.

The purpose of this meeting was to explore the operations of the National Meteorological Service, evaluate its current impact and socio-economic benefits, and identify opportunities for enhancing services for climate-sensitive sectors that depend on its climate data, information, forecast products, and early warnings.  Additionally, we gain a deeper understanding of how community needs align with the weather and climate information provided by the National Meteorological Service of Belize.
