Shaping Tomorrow: CEMO Engages Youth in Disaster Risk Reduction

CEMO recently participated in a youth forum organized by NEMO in partnership with UNICEF, commemorating the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction under the theme "Empowering the Next Generation for a Resilient Future." The forum provided youth with insights into Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives in Belize and allowed them to engage with leaders about their future in disaster management.

Ms. Melony Dawson, CEMO Liaison Officer, shared valuable experiences to enhance the youth's understanding of DRR and encourage community resilience. Additionally, she participated in a simulation exercise at the Philip Goldson International Airport to prepare stakeholders for potential disasters, clarifying roles and improving response effectiveness. Together, we are building a more resilient future!
