Staff Development: Financial Literacy for Council Staff

Understanding budgeting and expenses is crucial in our daily lives. To educate and equip staff with the importance of financial literacy, the Belize City Council, through funding from the Central Bank of Belize and technical support from Peacework Belize, has made it a priority to provide financial literacy training to over 200 staff members.

This initiative aligns with our vision to empower employees at all levels with skills that enhance job performance, promote better fiscal management, and improve quality of life.

These sessions, facilitated by Dr. Carol Babb and Peace Work Belize, focused on the importance of integrating budgeting, saving, financial goal setting, debt management, and retirement planning into an individual's daily life.

Mayor Wagner and the Belize City Council extend their gratitude to the Central Bank of Belize and Peacework Belize for this essential collaboration, which not only empowers staff with essential financial skills but also aligns with his commitment to fostering a financially literate and self-reliant community.
