As part of the Belize City Councilโs unwavering commitment to education, youth development, and civic engagement, Deputy Mayor Eluide Miller, supported by Councillor Malcolm Nunez, attended the St. Joseph School Leaving Exercise Mass this past Sunday where they proudly recognized a standout student for his community involvement out of the classroom.
Javar McKenzie, the only Standard Six student who participated in the St. Joseph Church clean-up campaign held last month, was honored for his strong spirit of community service. In recognition of his efforts, he received a full scholarship from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Additionally, the Belize City Council awarded him a $500 donation to assist with the purchase of high school books as he prepares to begin his academic journey at Wesley College.
This gesture not only reflects the Councilโs dedication to nurturing young leaders, but also reinforces the importance of civic pride and giving back to oneโs community. The Council encourages other students to get involved, take initiative, and be part of the positive change in their neighborhoods.
๐The Council congratulates Javar and wishes him continued success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter.
