As a symbol of our ongoing commitment to inclusive disaster preparedness, the Belize City Councilโs City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO), in partnership with the Disability Desk of the Ministry of Human Development, Family Support & Gender Affairs and the Special Education Unit of the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, hosted a specialized sensitization session.
These sessions were designed for Belize City Council staffers in their capacity as first responders, shelter managers, and members of the National Special Needs and Disability Sub-committee during periods of disaster. They focused on proper protocols for supporting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities during emergency situations.
