As a symbol of our ongoing commitment to inclusive disaster preparedness, the Belize City Councilโ€™s City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO), in partnership with the Disability Desk of the Ministry of Human Development, Family Support & Gender Affairs and the Special Education Unit of the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, hosted a specialized sensitization session.

These sessions were designed for Belize City Council staffers in their capacity as first responders, shelter managers, and members of the National Special Needs and Disability Sub-committee during periods of disaster. They focused on proper protocols for supporting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities during emergency situations.
