finalists for the eMobility Pilot Project under the Clean, Reliable Transportation category at this yearโs C40 Cities Local Leaders Awards taking place during the C40 World Mayors Summit 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!
This recognition celebrates our innovative approach to sustainable urban mobility and clean transportation solutions.
Mayor Bernard Wagner, along with Mayor Wally Nรบรฑez of San Pedro, Chairman Warren Garbutt of Placencia, Councillor Javier Castellanos, and eTransit Specialist Mr. Hall, proudly represented Belize at the opening of the Summit, hosted by Bloomberg Philanthropies from November 3โ5, 2025.
This landmark global gathering brings together mayors, city leaders, and climate experts to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and accelerate urgent climate action.
The Belizean delegation attended key sessions on climate resilience, energy transition in practice, inclusive economic growth, and smart city solutions, exploring strategies to make cities greener, safer, and more livable.
They also had the opportunity to engage with global leaders, including Mayor Sadiq Khan of London, one of the C40 Co-Chairs, Mayor Oleksandr Syenkevych of Mykolaiv, Ukraine, Mayor Brian Jackson of Beverly Hills, Missouri, Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard of Mount Vernon, Mayor Cรฉsar Nascimento of Cubatรฃo, Brazil, and Mayor Stefano Lo Russo of Torino, Italy, Former Mayor and Ambassador for Global Climate Diplomacy for C40 Cities Network Eric Garcetti as well as UNDP Advisor on Decentralized Cooperation Ms. Leva Lazareviciute and UNDP Deputy Resident Representative for Belize Mr. Michael Lund, further strengthening collaboration for sustainable urban development worldwide.
