Mayor Wagner Welcomes Youth Shadow Mayor Khatwani

"We don't want to repeat the pattern of recycling leaders in politics. Years from now when we have left I want to know that we have put young and capable minds in place to run this city and change the status quo.”

These were the words of Mayor Bernard Wagner as he introduced Harsh Khatwani, Youth Shadow Mayor, to the Council. He also imparted some personal history on Harsh's visit to explain how it is he made it to where he is today and what it takes to run a municipality. Mr. Khatwani too shared his vision for a brighter future for the youth of Belize and his goal to be a part of the change. We encourage more young leaders to answer the call to service and the Belize City Council will continue to foster ways to involve our young people to prosper.
