In preparation for the 2021 hurricane season, Councillor Natasha Pipersburgh with responsibility for CEMO along with our emergency operations staff and shelter managers recently participated in a Shelter Management Training session. Through this initiative, our members will be better equipped with the adequate knowledge and skills required to maintain shelter structure, prepare shelters for use and mobilize resources in the event of a natural disaster. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners at NEMO and especially Mr. Jose Zuniga from USAID for arranging and hosting the training sessions through our CEMO Unit. We would also like to reassure our residents that your Belize City Council is constantly working toward the safety and preparedness of our entire municipality as we approach this hurricane season.
