The Belize City Traffic Management Committee continues to work diligently, ensuring effective coordination is achieved to maintain order and safety in our city streets. Yesterday, during a meeting chaired by Deputy Mayor Allan Pollard Jr. our City Council stakeholders along with Councillor Albert Vaughan and members from our Traffic Department, the Belize Police Department, the Belize Fire Department, the Taxi Association, the Belize Transport Department and the Business Sector held at the Belize City Hall, all representatives had the opportunity to discuss strategies and updates regarding taxi operations, bus routes and parking in the city. A proposal was also tabled for the implementation of electric buses to be introduced as a means of public transportation for Belize City.
We are pleased to see the successful conclusion of yesterday's discussions and look forward to enacting the work that results from these committee meetings for the benefit of our residents.
