Councilor Dr. Candice Pitts launched the Mesopotamia Community Sewing Center geared at empowering women in the area by teaching them sewing skills while enabling them to become more self-sufficient citizens. Mayor Bernard Wagner gave the keynote address. We cannot wait to see all that these women will learn to create under the theme “Sew to Grow!”
