PROMOTING AN INCLUSIVE, INNOVATIVE AND SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS CITY THROUGHOUT AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH AND BEYOND!
In honor of persons and families with Autism, the Belize City Council, the Youth Shadow Council and the Child Advisory Body of Belize City partnered to coordinate a series of Autism Awareness events throughout the entire month of April.
This began with the City Hall going blue in support of Autism on April 1, 2022.
As it is important that our staff, youths and administration learns inclusive and positive practices when interacting with persons on the spectrum, the Community Support desk organized a series of capacity development sessions on April 8th, 2022.
On Sunday April 10th, staff, and members of our youth arm mobilized to premiere our feature Light It Up Blue Easter Egg Hunt and Family Day at the Digi Park for children with Autism.
Lastly, today Deputy Mayor Goodin, Councilors, and the Youth arms of the council mobilized to join the blue wave for the Run, Walk & Dance for Autism road march.
Exuberant appreciation is extended to Autism Belize, Mayor Wagner, Deputy Goodin, Councilor Pipersburgh, staffers as well as members of the Youth Shadow Council and Child Advisory Body of Belize City  for paying it forward in their promotion of Autism Awareness, inclusion, and service to our community of diverse abilities!
