Belize City Council Enhances Pedestrian Safety

Tue, 25th March 2025

The Belize City Council has commenced the repainting of pedestrian crossings across the city—an important step in supporting safer streets for students, residents, and all pedestrians, particularly in high-traffic areas and school zones.
By increasing the visibility of these crossings, we’re taking a proactive approach to prevent accidents and ensure safer travel for everyone, whether walking to school, work, or simply navigating the city.
To minimize inconvenience to commuters, the repainting work is being carried out during the night, ensuring the least disruption to daily routines and maintaining smooth traffic flow during the day.
This initiative is part of the Council’s continued efforts to support safer and more accessible public spaces for all who live, work, and visit Belize City.
