Removing Derelict Vehicles, Restoring Public Spaces

Thu, 15th May 2025

The Belize City Council’s Public Health Unit, with support from our Sanitation Night Crew, continues its proactive efforts to remove derelict vehicles from city streets—today focusing on Pelican Street Extension, Fabers Road Extension and Scabbard Street.

These abandoned vehicles pose safety hazards, reduce visibility, and contribute to urban blight. Their removal is part of our broader initiative to restore public spaces and ensure a cleaner, safer Belize City for all.

But long-term change starts with all of us. Civic pride means taking care of our surroundings—by not abandoning vehicles, reporting those that are left behind, and respecting the effort it takes to maintain our shared spaces.

Let’s keep this momentum going—together, we can create a city we’re proud to call home.
