It was an exciting week at the City Council as we welcomed our first four Shadow Council members, Deannie Requena, Malik Leslie, Kelsey Codd and Micaela Chiac at the City Hall. All members received a brief introduction and orientation from their mentors, Deputy Mayor Michael Norales , Councilor Javier Castellanos, Councilor Dr. Candice Pitts and Councilor Albert Vaughan respectively. All attendees received insight on the day to day affairs of the Council, an opportunity to visit multiple active work sites, and a chance to meet Mayor Wagner and other council staff. We look forward to furthering this program as we collaborate with these young visionaries and foster a spirit of leadership with the youth of Belize.
