As we enter the peak period of the rainy season, our Belize City Council CEMO Unit is enacting continuous measures to strengthen our disaster preparedness strategies. This week, members of our staff from various departments were engaged in an intensive Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training program to be better equipped to assist residents during storms and other natural disasters. The program consisted of elements such as setting up an EOC, processing information from the EOC communication room, filling out EOC forms, EOC COVID protocols and more. We are committed to safeguarding the lives of our residents to the best of our abilities in the face of all natural threats. To that end, we will continue to empower our team to be ready and able assist.
