Hurricane Season Preparedness Update

Fri, 17th May 2024

At the Belize City Council, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community is a year-round commitment, especially as we approach the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Our City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) Unit is fully engaged and activated, working tirelessly to enhance our preparedness efforts. Recently, each of our 15 CEMO sub-committees hosted sessions to reassess and improve our emergency response plans.
In addition, we received an official briefing from the National Meteorological Service to better inform our plans and decision-making processes for the upcoming season.
Collaboration with relevant emergency response agencies remains a top priority. We are working closely with these agencies to ensure we are ready to respond effectively in times of emergency.
Remember, preparedness is key! Stay tuned for updates and important information as we continue to do all we can to safeguard the lives and properties of our residents in times of disaster.
