Mayor Bernard Wagner was proud to join our country's leaders today and address the nation at the official celebration ceremony of the 223rd anniversary of the Battle of St. George's Caye. The ceremony also saw the crowning of the lovely Ms. Druewel Jones, the 76th Queen of Bay who represented Belize City. Congratulations Ms. Jones!
While we urge all Belizeans to remain safe and adhere to the social protocols in place, we continue to encourage everyone to show their patriotic spirit however they can. To that end we reiterate the message of our Mayor, that with 400,000 hopeful hearts, and 800,000 steady hands we will rise together to see a brighter tomorrow. Happy St. George's Caye Day!
