Prepared to Weather the Storm Stimulation Activity

Fri, 29th April 2022

In an effort to increase Belize City's preparedness to provide information, aid, and assessment in the event of a storm, the City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) and the Belize City Council mobilized upon the request of the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), the National Meteorological Service and US Southern Command for the national hurricane simulation activity which took place on April 27-28th, 2022.
This simulation exercise provided an opportunity for all entities to coordinate assistance, education, and mobilization efforts as we approach the impending hurricane season as of June 1st, 2022.
Gratitude is extended to CEMO, representatives from NEMO, and the council's dedicated staff who made this simulation a success.
As we approach this hurricane season, the City Emergency Management Organization and the Belize City Council encourage all residents to continuously develop their family emergency plans and to listen to advisories from CEMO, NEMO, and other disaster response officials before during, and after a storm.
